Futureproofed part of Sweco, a Leuven-based company (Belgium), is at the forefront of accelerating the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future for urban areas. With a firm belief that municipalities and cities can pioneer this change, we've developed Futureproofed for cities, a dedicated SaaS platform. We are looking for an outstanding Account Executive to drive our business development efforts, focusing on converting new city and municipal partners into loyal customers.

Your role in the team

As an Account Executive (AE), you will be a pivotal player in our GTM- and coaching-teams. Working closely with the City Climate Coaches, your primary responsibility is to expand the reach and impact of FutureproofedCities by converting prospects into committed customers.

Your key responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Sales Meetings
Engage qualified leads, schedule and lead both remote and in-person sales meetings with potential city and municipal partners.

Proposal Creation and Deal Closing
Understand the specific needs of each city to draft tailored proposals that encompass both our platform and value-added services. Skillfully negotiate terms and close deals.

Pipeline and Relationship Management
Manage and track customer interactions through our CRM system, while collaborating with the customer success and product teams for a smooth transition from prospect to active user.

Market Insights and Strategy
Collect feedback from the market and liaise with internal teams to refine sales strategies and product development.

Essential skills & traits

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or related fields.
  • A couple of years of experience in a sales or account management role, preferably in the tech or environmental sector.
  • Understanding of local government operations and/or climate policy-making.
  • Excellent command of FR. Bilingual NL/FR or EN/FR is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A keen understanding of the specific needs of cities, crucial for crafting tailored proposals.
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple tasks and pipelines effectively.
  • A deep passion for promoting sustainability and climate resilience at a municipal level.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and other sales technology.
