Visualising fixed assets sequestration

The Context
When our colleague got married we decided to give him a futureproofed present.

The Challenge
Which present was able to symbolise the importance of this event? How could we create shared value for Jan and society?

The Trajectory

  • Mapping
Futureproofed decided to give Jan an olive tree. This olive tree will provide economical and aesthetic benefits for Jan as well as environmental benefits for the ecosystem. Scientific research provided the basis of the sequestration model. A recent study concluded olive trees sequester on average 7,8kg of CO2 per year.

  • Dashboard visualisation
To communicate this feat, Futureproofed built a dashboard to visualise the sequestration in real time. This way, Jan can convince family, friends and casual passers with real time evidence of his claim.

Results and Resolutions
Jan and Katleen are still married happily ever after. Coincidence?

A Chinese proverb says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is when you’re getting married.” Or at any other occasion. I don’t remember it that well.
