In 2014 the Flemish Government launched the transition network Duurzaam Wonen en Bouwen (DuWoBo). This network was part of the ambitious ViA (Vlaanderen in Actie) program.
The goal of this network is to accelerate the principles of sustainable building and living in Flanders with and for all the members of the social pentagon (companies, government, financial institutes, scientific institutes, civil society organizations).
Starting in 2014, Futureproofed became Community Manager for DuWoBo and provided several tasks for the network:
- Organization of the 'Helicopter' meetings: the strategic think tank composed of pioneers in sustainable building;
- Organization of learning communities which focused on a certain theme;
- Online community management: social media, blog, agenda, site;
- Organization of 5 transition arenas, each with a central topic:
Smart living and buidling
The last arena brings DuWoBo into a new era with a new name: Smart Living and Building. This arena is organized together with Agentschap Wonen and fits smoothly into one of the transition priorities of the Flemish Government's Vision 2050.
