Energy efficient solutions for heating and hot water

Van Marcke is a distribution company that sells bathrooms and wellness, heating and cooling installations and kitchens. The people at Van Marcke are aware of the big challenge that our world is facing today. They want to contribute to the battle against climate change in their own way: offer energy efficient solutions and inform consumers about them.

In November 2009, Van Marcke opened a new unique information and sales center for energy friendly heating, energy and water solutions in Brussels, under the name of 'Big Blue'. This center is designed to offer information in an easily accessible and inspiring way.

Futureproofed was part of the team that worked out the Big Blue concept from the beginning. We influenced and advise of the following:

- The Big Blue building is the first non-residential building renovated up to passive house standards ;
- The top 10 places to intervene in a household were measured and designed;
- The solutions showed at Big Blue all reduce carbon emissions, optimize comfort, and are very profitable.
